AFRICA NEWS – Egypt violence on anniversary of clashes

There was yet more unrest in Egypt this Tuesday as protesters and supporters of the military-backed interim government clashed in Cairo on the anniversary of clashes in 2011. There was bloodshed in Somalia when Islamist militants rammed a car bomb into a police compound north of Somalia’s capital, killing at least 28 people, including civilians. But it was an exciting night in football as Algeria and Ghana booked their places at next year’s World Cup in Brazil.
